McQuistion Elementary School has successfully completed their annual Read-a-Thon with a total of 79,833 minutes read by students across K-5th grades! Awards went to the Top Readers of each grade and students who read more than 1,000 minutes over the two week period.

Butler Area School District's Kennywood day is Saturday, June 6, 2026! Tickets are $32.99 if purchased by May 18. The price will increase to $35.99 after the May 18th deadline.

McQuistion Elementary Best Buddies recently teamed up to create birthday cake kits with the goal of giving back to kids in need. Items were collected initially through a school wide donation.

The Butler Area School District's Board of School Directors, Al Vavro, president, Gary Shingleton, vice president, John Conrad, Jennifer Cummings, Jennifer Daniels-Wells, Phil Heasley, Terry Stivason, Nina Teff, and Cecilia Tomko, were selected as the recipient of the Tri-State Area School Study Council’s D. Richard Wynn Distinguished School Board Award!
This award is a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding school board leadership and governance throughout the region.
